Chronology
The crew of a horror web series goes to an abandoned asylum live
It soon encounters much more than expected as it moves deeper into the nightmarish old building. The filmmakers couldn’t get permission from the South Korean government to film in the actual hospital, so the scenes in the movie set in Gonjaam were filmed at the National Maritime High School in Busan, where the production team strictly followed the hospital’s floor plan to recreate the exact same exterior and hallways.
However, on the way to the hospital, they refer back to the previous trip
At the beginning of the film, they meet in a restaurant for the first time. In the shots where everyone jumps into the water, it’s as if the same faces just met.
Not a fool
* EDIT — They referred to a previous trip & then *everyone who just met* jumped into the water. They talked about how to do it & then they did it.

An eerie found-footage horror film from the South Korean film industry, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum travels down a well-worn path, packing the expected tropes of the genre and implementing the same formula as other similar entries before it. And yet everything about it is surprisingly better & much more efficient, probably due to its really tight build-up & great bonding between its committed cast.
